Today’s briefs consist of such a wide variety of files. As technology continues to enable the legal profession to present information in multiple formats, the need for flexibility with document management has never been higher.
With this in mind and, following close consultation with our users to learn more about their specific needs, we are delighted to release our latest feature, which enables users to upload non-PDF multimedia files to the eBrief Ready platform and automatically convert them to PDF format.
These multimedia files include video, audio, image, emails and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) files.
What does this new feature mean for users?
We understand that working solely with PDFs is restrictive given the wide variety of information which makes up an electronic brief. Enabling this functionality on the platform gives users incredible flexibility to build their eBriefs all in the one place – and hold one source of truth throughout the process.
Building out the variety of file types which are now supported will make it considerably easier and faster to achieve a high quality brief, made up of all of the vital evidence and information necessary to effectively brief barristers.
In addition, the system holds both versions of the file – its original, native format, as well as the PDF conversion. This means that at any time you can easily retrieve the original file from your account portal without having to convert it, have it sent to you, or locate it from within your locally saved files.
The platform in which these documents are securely stored also allows users to watch video footage, listen to audio and view images – without having to download the file locally. This will help to significantly speed up the process of reviewing material.
Which file types are supported?
The following file types can now be uploaded to eBrief Ready:
